Maggie Grace is going from killing zombies on Fear the Walking Dead to navigating the world of wedding planning. The Lost alum is has joined the cast of Dennis Dugan’s Love, Weddings & Other Disasters.

Grace will star opposite Diane Keaton and Jeremy Irons in the female-driven romantic comedy about the people who work on weddings to create the perfect day for the loving couple – while their own relationships are outlandish, odd, crazy and far, far from perfect.

Grace will play Jessie, an aspiring event planner who gets an unexpected opportunity to plan the high profile wedding of an influential gubernatorial candidate and his finance. Though Jessie’s methods are slapdash and unorthodox, she puts together a very warm and eclectic wedding, befriends Liz, impresses her professional idol Lawrence (Irons), and even finds a little romance for herself. Production is currently underway in Boston.

The movie features Todd Stashwick (12 Monkeys), Caroline Portu (SMILF) and Dennis Staroselsky (The Loudest Voice). DNCE guitarist JinJoo Lee, Jesse McCartney and Veronica Ferres also co-star. Nadine de Barros of Fortitude is producing with Mike Rachmill, Dan Reardon, Adrian Politowski and Martin Metz. Executive producers are Lisa Wolofsky, Frank Buchs, Al Munteanu and Santosh Govindaraju. Gersh and Endeavor Content are handling US rights.

Maggie is repped by UTA, Zero Gravity Management and attorneys Karl Austen and Alan Wertheimer.

In part one of The Walking Dead universe, the cast and creators of the Fear the Walking Dead panel took the stage. First stepping on the dais alongside moderator Chris Hardwick were showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg; executive producers Robert Kirkman, Dave Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd, and Greg Nicotero; and director and co-executive producer, Michael Satrazemis as well as Scott Gimple, chief creative officer of The Walking Dead franchise.  In addition, Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Danay Garcia, Maggie Grace, Jenna Elfman, Alexa Nisenson, Austin Amelio, Rubén Blades, and Karen David joined the panel which was packed with news.

During the panel, Gimple announced that the series has been renewed for a season 6 and they dropped a first look at season 5B ahead of its midseason finale on Sunday. The series will return August 11. In addition, Gimple announced that Colby Minifie, Peter Jacobson and Colby Hollman will be joining the cast.

In addition, Gimple said that they are going to be exploring more of the post-apocalyptic Walking Dead universe.

“The big secret is that there have been other civilizations that have survived the apocalypse,” revealed Gimple. “We are about to show a lot more.”

Gimple said that they are working on another series of privileged, first-world kids who leave the comfort of their world to go on a quest. Some will become heroes — others not so much. He said the new series will “open up a whole new world.” No further details of the series were given.

Maggie Grace has boarded airline horror pic Incident On 459 which IMR will be selling internationally at the upcoming Cannes Market. UTA Independent Film Group is on domestic sales with principal photography beginning in Kiev this September.

The Saw franchise’s Kevin Greutert is directing the pic from Chris Sparling’s script. The story centers on the discovery of a demon-possessed passenger on a transatlantic flight from Boston to London, leaving it up to the rest of the passengers to figure out how to survive before crashing, or being blown up by the Air Force.

Grace (Taken, Lost) will play Valerie, a psychologist and single mother with a special needs son, who is on the flight. Her ex-boyfriend is also on the plane, forcing the pair to set their differences aside and figure out how to deal with the demon. Valerie’s values and beliefs are tested to the limit as she must come to terms with the supernatural and that which cannot be explained.

Jean Charles Lévy, Morgan Emmery and Julian Gross are producing for Tungstene Productions, alongside Vlad Ryashin and Olias Barco for Apple Tree Productions. Trinity Media Financing will finance the film.

IMR’s Fox says, “It’s going to be a thrilling ride with the combination of Maggie Grace, Chris Sparling’s incredible script and Kevin’s vision… Think of The Exorcist on a plane.”

Lévy adds, “We read Chris’ script and immediately fell for it and we’re incredibly excited to have Kevin and Maggie onboard. We are building a dedicated set in Kiev for this plane which will have all the tools to maximize production value. We want this to feel as real and large as possible, so that when people watch it, they’ll feel they’re on the plane themselves with a growing sense of claustrophobia and terror.”

IMR’s Cannes slate also includes What Is Life Worth starring Michael Keaton; Black Flies with Mel Gibson and Tye Sheridan; Scott Z Burns’ The Report starring Adam Driver; Guy Ritchie’s Bush; and King Of The Jungle with Seth Rogen and Keaton.

Grace and Greutert are repped by UTA and Zero Gravity Management. Sparling by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment.
